ARIZONA CONGRESSMAN INTRODUCES RESOLUTION TO IMPEACH EPA HEAD
U.S. Rep. Paul Gosar of Arizona announced last week he will introduce a resolution to impeach Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Gina McCarthy. The resolution accuses McCarthy of committing perjury before Congress. Gosar said his legislation would hold McCarthy accountable for “blatant deceptions” during testimony before various U.S. House committees on the waters of the U.S. (WOTUS) rule.

McCarthy reportedly contradicted, under oath, statements from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Major General John Peabody, who expressed “serious concerns about certain aspects of the draft final rule.” The Corps is the primary regulator of the WOTUS rule.
Gosar’s articles of impeachment cite a litany of false statements made to Congress by McCarthy. He said the regulations proposed under McCarthy’s direction are not based on science and “are being imposed through lies to Congress and the American people.”

“We must hold D.C. bureaucrats accountable when they commit perjury or make false statements in order to implement President Obama’s misguided agenda,” said Gosar.
